Alberta invited new candidates under the Family Connection pathway

On August 29, 2023, the Government of Alberta published the results of the new invitation rounds in the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

The province held a new draw under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). On August 24, 2023, Alberta invited 168 candidates with Alberta job offer in the Family Connection pathway.

The minimum score for this draw was 302, 13 points fewer than in the previous draw. As of August 29, 2023, the province invited 2,841 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry and issued 7,121 nomination certificates.

British Columbia invited new skilled candidates and tech professionals

On August 29, 2023, British Columbia issued new invitations in the Skilled Worker – International Graduate categories of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP).

In the Tech-targeted draw, BC issued 102 invitations with a minimum score of 88 points. In the Childcare-targeted draw for early childhood educators (NOC 42202), the province invited 28 candidates who scored 60 points.

In the Healthcare-targeted draw, the province issued 20 invitations. Additionally, fewer than five invitations have been issued for other priority occupations (NOCs 31103, 32104).

The province invited up to 155 candidates with a score of 60-88 points. Including this draw, in 2023, British Columbia has already issued 7,003 invitations.

Thunder Bay issued 274 recommendations to qualified candidates

On May 9, 2023, Thunder Bay, ON, issued new community recommendations in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). The city approved the applications of 274 candidates whose evaluations scored as low as 49%. Last year, the community recommended a total of 377 candidates. The Thunder Bay CEDC will prioritize applicants for the recommendation who are most likely to settle and contribute to the local economy. Candidates who received a community recommendation can submit their applications for permanent residence in Canada to Immigration Canada (IRCC). Manitoba invited 22 Ukrainian candidates under the MPNP

On August 25, 2023, the Government of Manitoba held the 17th draw for Ukrainian candidates.

In this draw, the province invited 22 candidates through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). To be eligible, applicants must be Ukrainian citizens, have a minimum of CLB 4 in each language band, have connections to the province (close relative, community ties, previous employment, or studies in Manitoba), and score at least 60 points in the EOI registration points-grid, and possess a valid language test in one of the official languages.

n total, the province invited 10,323 candidates in 2023, including 217 Ukrainian nationals.
