Manitoba invited 583 candidates under the MPNP and held occupation-specific selection in Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream

On February 23, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

In round #169, the MPNP held the first occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream and invited 207 applicants under the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 minor groups:

• Transport and transit drivers (73300) • Retail and wholesale trade managers (60020) • Nursing and allied health professionals (31300) • Assisting occupations in education (41109) • Secondary, elementary and kindergarten schoolteachers (43100) • Hairstylists and estheticians (63210) • Automotive service technicians (72410) • Paraprofessional occupations in legal, social, community and education services (42200) • Retail salespersons and non-technical wholesale trade sales and account representatives (64100) • Office support and court services occupations (14100)

Manitoba also issued 298 LAAs in the regular Skilled Workers in Manitoba draw.

The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 693 points, 27 points fewer than the previous draw.

In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, Manitoba issued 27 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

The lowest score in the SWO category was 721 points, 12 points more than in the previous draw.

In addition, 51 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 583 candidates, including 140 Express Entry candidates for this round.

In 2023, MPNP invited 1,570 candidates, and 232 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

Sudbury considered 24 applications under the RNIP

On February 23, 2023, the City of Greater Sudbury held a new round of invitations in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).

In this round, Sudbury considered 25 candidates.

The lowest score of these draws was 245 points, five points fewer than in the previous draw.

All applicants had one eligible occupation and a wage over $20 per hour.

Last year, in total, 154 applicants were invited. Sudbury has recommended at least 249 individuals under the RNIP since the program's launch.

So far, the city considered 49 candidates in 2023.

British Columbia invited over 240 skilled candidates under the new BCPNP draws

On February 22, 2023, the Government of British Columbia issued new invitations under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and invited qualified Skills Immigration candidates.

In the general draw, the province invited 203 candidates. The minimum score for candidates invited in this draw was 85-103 points.

The province issued 18 ITAs to candidates under the childcare-targeted draw for early childhood educators (NOC 42202). In the Healthcare-targeted draw, BC invited 20 candidates who scored 60 points.

Additionally, fewer than five invitations have been issued for other priority occupations (NOCs 31103, 32104). In total, the province invited up to 246 candidates for this draw. This year, British Columbia has already issued 1,850 invitations.

Quebec invited candidates in the new Arrima draw

On February 22, 2023, the Quebec Ministry of Immigration (MIFI) published the results of the 41st invitation round in Quebec’s online system Arrima.

On February 16, 2023, MIFI invited 1,011 candidates to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

Candidates invited in this round had a valid job offer outside the territory of the Montreal Metropolitan Community. This year, MIFI issued 2,022 invitations.

Since the launch of Arrima in July 2019, the Government of Quebec invited 15,339 foreign nationals in 41 draws to apply for immigration to Quebec.
