BCPNP invited 80 high-tech specialists in the Tech Pilot
On April 6, 2021, British Columbia conducted a new draw for candidates in the Tech Pilot of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). In this round, the government invited 80 high-tech specialists to apply for the provincial nomination in four categories: Skills Immigration - Skilled Worker, Skills Immigration - International Graduate, Express Entry British Columbia - Skilled Worker, and Express Entry British Columbia - International Graduate. All candidates scored 80 points or higher. British Columbia invited 592 Tech Pilot candidates this year. In total, BC issued 2,989 invitations in the BCPNP in 2021.

Quebec invited 95 persons in the first round of Arrima in 2021
On March 30, 2021, the Quebec Ministry of Immigration (MIFI) published the results of the second invitation round in Quebec’s online system Arrima conducted in 2021. MIFI invited 208 candidates to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program. Candidates invited in this round either had a validated offer of employment in the province or are specific foreigners mentioned in Section 26 of the Quebec Immigration Regulation such as diplomats, the staff of the intergovernmental organizations, consular officers, and diplomats. In total, Quebec invited 303 candidates through the Arrima in 2021.

IRCC issued 284 ITAs in the Express Entry draw #180
On March 31, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new round in Express Entry. In draw #180, IRCC targeted candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program. This time the Immigration Department invited 284 provincial candidates, and the cut-off score in this round was 778 points, 96 points more compared to the previous PNP-specific draw that was held on March 17. The tie-breaking rule for this round March 16, 2021 at 16:09:32 UTC. As of March 29, 2021, there are 165,476 profiles registered in the pool, 3,356 profiles more compared to the previous update. In total, Canada invited 44,124 foreign nationals to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry in 2021.
