Toronto is in the first place among the cities for women to build a career

According to Bloomberg, a financial, software, data, and media company, Toronto is the best city in the world for women to develop a career.

The company conducted an analysis of 15 major cities based on their role in global business and attractiveness to global talent to compare the life quality metrics for women to pursue their careers.

The analysis assessed the research for five pillars: safety, mobility, maternity, equality, and wealth.

More than 3 thousand women between the ages of 18 to 60 were surveyed, and Toronto left other cities such as Sydney, Singapore, Paris, and London behind taking first place.

Immigration Minister welcomed Afghan refugees

On December 8, 2021, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), welcomed 265 Afghan refugee families who landed at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Approximately 100 of these families will remain in Nova Scotia, and the rest will be resettled in new homes across Canada.

These government-assisted refugees are former NATO employees who have been located in a third country.

They arrived in Canada under the Government of Canada’s special humanitarian program for Afghan refugees that aimed to welcome 15,000 individuals.

Misuse of Ontario government’s in-demand stream for truck drivers

Truck drivers in Ontario call Doug Ford to introduce strict rules for the province’s in-demand stream.

No matter how the Government increases transparency and uses the help of professional police, many people are still misusing the immigration system.

Some companies that do not have a good track record are using the government of Ontario’s in-demand stream for truck drivers.

Apparently, they reduce rates, but under the table, there is money exchange to nominate foreign drivers. Until the community raises its voice on this issue and the government introduces strict laws, this issue will not be resolved.

Canada will help vulnerable women and girls in Central America

On December 7, 2021, the Government of Canada announced a new initiative to protect vulnerable women and girls in the northern part of Central America.

Social and economic instability have forcibly displaced thousands of women and girls and led to the increase of irregular migration.

Working with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Canada aims to help 5,000 women and girls affected by irregular migration and forced displacement in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Over the next 4 years, the Government plans to invest $10 million to empower and protect women and girls in the region.
