Prince Edward Island held a new draw for skilled workers and international graduates

On August 21, 2025, Prince Edward Island conducted 2025’s eighth invitation round under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

In this draw, PEI issued 132 invitations to apply (ITAs) to workers in priority sectors based on economic impact in PEI. The province prioritized candidates with employment offers from PEI-based organizations and international graduates from recognized institutions, including UPEI, Holland College, and Collège de l'Île, in this selection process.

So far, the province has invited only one business candidate this year and 791 skilled workers through the regular PEI PNP draws in 2025. According to the schedule, the next PEI PNP draw is scheduled for September 18, 2025.

Manitoba invited Skilled Workers Stream candidates in the new MPNP draw

On August 21, 2025, Manitoba held the invitation round #252 under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

The province invited 77 skilled workers under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams as part of a strategic recruitment initiative, with a minimum score of 612.

In this round, 18 invitations were extended to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and a job seeker validation code.

This year, the MPNP invited 1,538 candidates, and 299 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

BC invited entrepreneurs under the BCPNP

On August 19, 2025, British Columbia held a new draw under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP).

The BCPNP issued 11 invitations to candidates in the Base Category of the Entrepreneur Stream, which is designed for experienced businesspeople who wish to start a new business or acquire an existing business in British Columbia. The lowest score of this round was 124 points.

In addition, the province invited up to five candidates in the Entrepreneur Immigration - Regional Pilot category with a minimum score of 115. Last year, British Columbia invited up to 80 business candidates through the Entrepreneur draws.

So far this year, the province has issued only 169 invitations under the BCPNP, with up to 75 of them going to entrepreneurs.

IRCC held a new Express Entry draw for healthcare workers

On August 19, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the fourth occupation-specific Express Entry draw of the year for candidates working in healthcare and social services occupations.

In round #362, IRCC issued 2,500 Invitations to Apply (ITA), and the cut-off score was 470 points (5 points lower than the last draw). The tie-breaking rule for this round was April 23, 2025, at 20:08:53 UTC.

As of August 17, 2025, 254,113 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool. This year, Canada issued 55,820 ITAs in 32 Express Entry draws.
