Ontario invited tech professionals through the Human Capital Priorities Stream

On December 14, 2023, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted an invitation draw under the Human Capital Priorities Stream.

The OINP issued 2,359 targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to tech professionals with work experience in 15 National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.

Invited candidates' comprehensive ranking system (CRS) Express Entry score was between 473 and 480 points.

This year, the province has invited 17,502 candidates through fourteen Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream draws. In 2023, Ontario issued 41,923 invitations under all streams of OINP.

Sudbury considered 39 applications under the three RNIP streams

On December 14, 2023, the City of Greater Sudbury held new rounds of invitations in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) Program.

In this round, Sudbury considered 39 candidates, including 35 candidates via the Conventional Stream, one candidate under the Limited Stream, and three candidates through the Francophone Stream.

Last year, Sudbury invited a total of 154 applicants. Since the program's launch, the city has recommended around 625 individuals under the RNIP. So far, the city has considered 545 candidates in 2023.

The BCPNP invited up to 197 skilled candidates

On December 12, 2023, the Government of British Columbia held new invitation draws under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and issued invitations to apply to qualified candidates in healthcare, childcare, construction, and other priority occupations.

In the general draw, the province invited 73 candidates. The minimum score for candidates invited in this draw was 95-116 points. BC issued 61 ITAs to candidates under the childcare-targeted draw for early childhood educators (NOC 42202).

In the Healthcare-targeted draw, BC British Columbia invited 27 candidates who scored 60 points. In addition, the province invited 27 candidates working in the construction sector.

Furthermore, up to five invitations have been issued for other priority occupations (NOCs 31103, 32104). In total, British Columbia issued up to 197 ITAs in this draw.

This year, British Columbia has already invited 9,920 candidates.

Alberta updated the AAIP inventory and held two new draws

On December 12, 2023, Alberta published an update on the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) inventory.

According to the new update, there were around 3,232 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications, 1,087 Rural Renewal Stream applications, and 832 applications under all pathways (Family Connection and In-Demand Occupation Streams, Dedicated Healthcare Pathway, Priority Sectors, and Accelerated Tech Pathway) of the Express Entry stream.

In addition, on November 21 and December 5, 2023, the AAIP held two new draws and invited 11 and 19 candidates working in the healthcare sector, respectively.

This year, Alberta invited 3,549 candidates under all AAIP streams.
