New measures for foreign nationals with expired or expiring post-graduation work permits and applicants to the temporary resident to permanent resident pathways
11th, Jan 2022
On January 10, 2022, the Government of Canada introduced a new program delivery update for Post-graduation work permit (PGWP) eligibility requirements.
According to the new instructions for a post-graduation work permit,
if an applicant took a period of leave that was authorized by their designated learning institution (DLI) at any time during their studies,
they must include documentation proving the leave was authorized by the DLI to be eligible for PGWP. If needed, officers may request additional documents to complete their assessment.
