IRCC will modernize Canada’s immigration system

Marco Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC), has emphasized the need to modernize Canada’s immigration system so that future public health crises don’t threaten the economy the way COVID-19 did. He also highlighted the contributions of immigrants into the country and for the Canadian economy, and the need for transformation and modernization of the system, so that it can accommodate the great demands that are placed on it. Canada will welcome fully vaccinated travellers from all countries by early September

According to a readout published by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office, Canada can welcome fully vaccinated travellers from all countries by early September 2021. In addition. If the current positive path of vaccination rate and public health conditions continue, the Government will start allowing fully vaccinated US citizens and permanent residents into Canada as of mid-August for non-essential travel. Ottawa is going to help applicants with expired COPR

As everyone is aware. Applicants cannot travel to Canada on expired documents. So, the Government of Canada will help those who are outside Canada with expired or expiring Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) who couldn’t travel to Canada due to travel restrictions related to COVID-19. As of June 21, 2021, applicants are exempt from travel restrictions, no matter what date COPR was issued. However, if applicants have an expired COPR, they are not able to travel to Canada until new documents are reissued. Applicants with a COPR and permanent resident visa that are valid until October 1, 2021, are expected to come to Canada before their documents expire.   #COPR, #PR, #Travel_restrictions, #IRCC

Canada experiences an increase in job vacancies

As Canada’s economy recovers in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare and construction jobs are booming which provides new opportunities both for new immigrants and those who want to immigrate here. According to the report of Statistics Canada, ‘there were 553,500 job vacancies in the first quarter of 2021, up by 40,700, or 7.9 percent, from the same quarter one year earlier and by 47,300, or 9.4 percent, compared with two years earlier.” The most in-demand jobs were in the healthcare and social assistance sector.
