BCPNP invited new candidates under four categories

On July 9, 2026, British Columbia held new invitation rounds under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP), targeting four priority occupation categories.

The province invited 91 Early Childhood Educators, 116 candidates in all priority health care occupations, 136 candidates in all priority construction occupations, and fewer than five candidates in priority veterinary care occupations.

The veterinary draw was open to all priority veterinary care occupations, while Animal Health Technologists and Veterinary Technicians (NOC 32104) were required to hold a valid professional designation.

The minimum scores were 108 for childcare, 96 for health care, 97 for construction, and 88 for veterinary care. So far in 2026, British Columbia has invited up to 3,215 candidates through the BCPNP.

IRCC invited 5,000 Francophone candidates in the third Express Entry draw of the week

On July 9, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the seventh Express Entry draw of the year for French-language proficiency candidates. In round #425, IRCC issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to francophone candidates.

The cut-off score of this draw was 420 points – 11 points more than the last draw.

The tie-breaking rule for this round was May 15, 2026, at 08:04:00 UTC. So far this year, Canada has issued 96,601 ITAs across 37 Express Entry draws, including 35,500 invitations to French-speaking candidates.

This represents approximately 36.7% of all invitations issued in 2026.

Ottawa conducted a CEC draw under the Express Entry, inviting 2,000 candidates

On July 7, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. IRCC issued 2,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in this draw.

In round #424, the cut-off score was 517 points, one point more than it was in the previous CEC-targeted draw.

The tie-breaking rule for this round was December 29, 2025, at 17:49:27 UTC. As of July 5, 2026, 235,127 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool. So far in 2026, the Government of Canada has issued 91,601 invitations under 36 Express Entry draws.
