Accompagnement Quebec is offered to sponsored refugees
On August 18, 2021, the Ministere de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Integration (MIFI) published that the province this week will offer sponsored refugees Accompagnement Québec, the free and personalized service to facilitate their integration in the province.
This will help MIFI ensure that sponsors provide refugees with settlement and integration services.
Sponsored refugees can get registered for Accompagnement Quebec with the help of their sponsor on Arrima.
Sponsored refugees whose sponsorship period has ended can also register with Accompagnement Québec, and benefit from the services.

Canada introduced a new update for Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
On August 16, 2021, the Government of Canada introduced a new program delivery update for Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).
As of now, foreign nationals who have applied for permanent residence under the RNIP Program and received an acknowledgment of receipt may be issued a full 1-year employer-specific Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)-exempt work permit.
Under paragraph 205(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), or until the passport’s expiry date, whichever comes first.
Applicants are not eligible to apply for the RNIP work permit at a port of entry. All applications must be submitted online only.

Nova Scotians want to see more newcomers in the province
According to the latest Narrative Research poll conducted in the last full week of July, 75 percent of Nova Scotians want their province to invite more immigrants from outside the country.
And even more, support came for medical doctors from overseas.
An incredible 92 percent of Nova Scotians want the province to recruit more doctors from abroad. Following the North American trend, Nova Scotia’s population is decreasing every year.
The province has labour shortages in the healthcare and information technology sectors as well as in the occupations that require physical stamina such as in the agricultural and forestry sector.

Quebec launched a new self-assessment tool for Regular Skilled Worker Program
On August 12, 2021, the Ministere de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Integration (MIFI) announced a new self-assessment tool that will allow applicants to estimate the score they could obtain when filing an expression of interest (EOI) in Arrima under the Regular Skilled Worker Program.
This tool will help compare applicants’ scores with the results of previous exercises and estimate the chances of receiving an invitation in the permanent selection application.
Applicants can gain scores for several criteria, particularly, for the level and field of education, the presence of a spouse accompanying the principal applicant; proficiency in French, recognized by the Ministry; and work experience.
