Canada’s first phase to easing border measures are not applicable for travellers who are not fully vaccinated
On June 21, 2021, the Government of Canada announced the details of the first phase of its approach to easing border measures for travelers beginning July 5.
However, these measures are not applicable for travelers who are not fully vaccinated.
Canada’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to prioritize the health and safety of Canadians, thus unvaccinated air travelers will have to adhere to the current testing and federal
quarantine requirements and provide COVID-19-related information electronically through ArriveCAN and book a three-night stay at a government-authorized hotel before entering Canada.

Fully vaccinated international students can be exempted from mandatory quarantine
Canada will begin to accept fully vaccinated travellers who are exempt from travel restrictions starting from July 5, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Exempted travellers, most of whom are approved permanent residents will not be subjected to quarantine or take a COVID-19 test on day-8 as well as to stay at a government-approved hotel.
However,
all travellers still have to meet pre-arrival and on-arrival resting requirements to be exempt from travel restrictions and cross the border.
All COVID-19-related information and testing results will have to be submitted electronically on the ArriveCAN app.
