Canada’s first phase to easing border measures are not applicable for travellers who are not fully vaccinated

On June 21, 2021, the Government of Canada announced the details of the first phase of its approach to easing border measures for travelers beginning July 5. However, these measures are not applicable for travelers who are not fully vaccinated. Canada’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to prioritize the health and safety of Canadians, thus unvaccinated air travelers will have to adhere to the current testing and federal quarantine requirements and provide COVID-19-related information electronically through ArriveCAN and book a three-night stay at a government-authorized hotel before entering Canada. #Covid_19, #Borders, #International_travel   https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/news/2021/06/government-of-canadas-first-phase-to-easing-border-measures-for-travellers-entering-canada3.html

Fully vaccinated international students can be exempted from mandatory quarantine

Beginning July 5, 2021, fully vaccinated international students who meet all requirements will be exempted from mandatory quarantine and can go straight to their homes without staying in a government-approved quarantine hotel. They also do not have to take a COVID test eight days after arrival. However, students still need to have a quarantine plan in case border officials determine they haven’t met all requirements for exemption. International students must have received two doses of one of the approved vaccines such as Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca (COVISHIELD), and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). Only students who received a one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, can enter Canada without the second dose. #Quarantine, #international_students, #IRCC, #COVID_19 https://www.bing.com/news/search?q=Fully+Vaccinated+International+Students+Can+Be+Exempted+From+Mandatory+Quarantine&qpvt=Fully+vaccinated+international+students+can+be+exempted+from+mandatory+quarantine&FORM=EWRE https://monitor.icef.com/2021/06/canada-fully-vaccinated-international-students-eligible-for-exemption-from-quarantine/

Exempted travellers, most of whom are approved permanent residents will not be subjected to quarantine or take a COVID-19 test on day-8 as well as to stay at a government-approved hotel. However, all travellers still have to meet pre-arrival and on-arrival resting requirements to be exempt from travel restrictions and cross the border.
