Ontario opened the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate Streams

On August 9, 2021, the Government of Ontario announced that the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) opened the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate Streams. The province will keep the expression of interest (EOI) system open throughout the year and eligible applicants can register an EOI at any time. Ottawa will receive applications of protected persons for PR online via the Permanent Residence Portal

On August 6, 2021, the Government of Canada introduced a new program delivery update regarding Protected persons’ applications for permanent residence (PR). Now, protected persons’ applications for PR submitted online via the Permanent Residence Portal will have to include digital forms of IMM 5669 (Schedule A – Background / Declaration form) and IMM 5406 (Additional Family Information form). Many immigrants to Canada face increased loneliness

Statistics Canada revealed that cases of self-proclaimed loneliness among immigrants dramatically increased. According to the report, loneliness did not appear to be alleviated by the length of stay in Canada, since both recent and long-term immigrants reported higher levels of loneliness compared with people born in Canada. International students in Canada become less diverse

Statistics Canada revealed that more and more foreign students come to the country from the same countries. In addition, these students mostly concentrate on particular school programs and provinces that can cause trouble for Canada’s international education sector According to immigration and post-secondary student information data between 2000 and 2019, over nearly two decades, the number of first-time study permit holders almost quadrupled to 250,020. The share of international students from the top 10 countries has increased from 67.9 to 74.9 percent.
