Immigrants who face immigration processing delays to bring their spouses to Canada held a protest outside the IRCC office in Toronto demanding IRCC to process their applications in a short period of time to join their spouses.
Most immigrants were frustrated about not getting a response from IRCC demanding to speed up spousal sponsorship and to prioritize family sponsorship.
Many protesters expressed their desire to reunite the families since they were experiencing mental health issues after being were separated from their family members for a long time.

On September 1, 2021, the Liberal Party released a new election platform that addresses long-standing policy problems in the country as well as discusses future improvements in the immigration system.
The Party promised to
1.expand pathways to Permanent Residence for temporary foreign workers and former international students;
2.create the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot and welcome 2,000 skilled refugees to fill labour shortages in demanded sectors such as health care;
3.expand the new immigration stream for human rights defenders; increase the demographic weight of Francophones in the country and support Francophone immigration outside of Quebec,
4.and introduce electronic applications for family reunification.
Liberals also promise to make the Citizenship application process free for permanent residents who have fulfilled the requirements needed to obtain it. To note, the Party still has not waived the $630 citizenship fee, promised during the 2019 elections.

August 31, 2021, was the last day for receipt of applications under the Special Program for Asylum Seekers during the COVID-19 Period.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) had granted permanent residence (PR) under the Temporary Public Policy to certain foreign nationals selected by Quebec working in the healthcare sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since on April 31, 2021, the period for receipt of applications ended, IRCC extended the deadline until the end of August 2021, to let more candidates submit an application for PR.

Hello everyone.
Well today Immigration Canada had its latest draw under Express Entry and was limited to PNP as it usually is on the Wednesday draw.
Today draw is the 17 express entry draw of the year under PNP and was limited to 635 persons getting a ITA(invitation to Apply).
The lowest score today was 764 which is not hard to get as a nomination from a Province automatically gives the applicant 600 points.
