Manitoba issued over 600 nominations through the MPNP

On July 27, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

In round #187, the MPNP held a new occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream and invited 335 applicants who scored 614 points and above.

Manitoba also issued 202 LAAs in the regular SWM draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 649 points, 12 points fewer than the previous draw.

In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 21 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

The lowest score in the SWO category was 717 points, 57 points fewer than in the previous draw. In addition, 51 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 609 candidates, including 106 Express Entry candidates for this round.

In 2023, MPNP invited 9,063 candidates, and 2,466 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

Sudbury considered 54 new applications under the RNIP

On July 31, 2023, the City of Greater Sudbury held a new round of invitations in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).

In this round, Sudbury considered 54 candidates, including one drawn through the Francophone Stream. The lowest score of these draws was 240 points, ten points lower than in the previous draw.

Last year, Sudbury invited a total of 154 applicants. Since the program's launch, the city has recommended at least 400 individuals under the RNIP. So far, the city has considered 230 candidates in 2023.

IRCC invited 800 Francophone candidates through the category-based Express Entry draw

On August 2, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw, selecting candidates for French language proficiency.

In round #260, IRCC issued 800 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to francophone candidates.

The cut-off score of this draw was 435 points, 60 points more than the previous draw for this category. The tie-breaking rule for this round was July 31, 2023, at 09:57:30 UTC.

As of August 1, 2023, there were 211,529 profiles registered in the Express Entry pool.

This year, Canada issued 71,948 ITAs through the Express Entry draws.

Alberta held two occupation-specific AAIP draws on August 1

On August 2, 2023, the Government of Alberta published the results of the new invitation rounds in the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

On August 1, 2023, the province held two draws under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). Alberta issued 11 invitations under the Designated Healthcare Pathway.

Invited candidates had a minimum score of 317. In addition, the AAIP invited 32 candidates with Alberta job offer in the agriculture sector.

As of August 2, 2023, the province invited 2,069 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry and issued 6,431 nomination certificates.
