Alberta held the first AAIP draws of August

On August 13, 2025, Alberta released the results of the recent Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) immigration draws. On August 7 and 11, 2025, the province invited 63 Express Entry candidates and 39 non-Express Entry candidates under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway, respectively.

Additionally, on August 12, Alberta invited 581 candidates under the Alberta Opportunity stream.

The cut-off scores of these draws were 56, 53, and 70, respectively. So far, Alberta has invited 2,756 candidates through the AAIP streams this year.

Newfoundland and Labrador held new draws and invited 231 candidates

On August 13, 2025, Newfoundland and Labrador held its seventh round of selections through the Enhanced Expression of Interest (EOI) system, issuing a total of 231 invitations.

Of these, 180 were sent to candidates under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP), while 51 went to applicants through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

As of February 19, 2025, all applicants to the NLPNP and AIP must submit their applications through the new Immigration Accelerator platform. So far, the province has invited 2,049 candidates in 2025.

IRCC conducted an Express Entry draw for Francophone candidates after a 5-month pause

On August 8, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw for French language proficiency candidates.

In round #360, IRCC issued 2,500 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to francophone candidates.

The cut-off score of this draw was 481 points, 102 points more than in the previous draw in this category.

The tie-breaking rule for this round was July 18, 2025, at 05:16:06 UTC. As of August 5, 2025, 256,585 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool.

This year, Canada issued 53,128 ITAs through 30 Express Entry draws, and 21,000 of them were sent to francophone candidates.

The MPNP conducted a new draw for Skilled Workers Stream candidates

On August 7, 2025, Manitoba held the invitation round #251 under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). The province invited 37 skilled workers under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams as part of a strategic recruitment initiative, with a minimum score of 724.

In this round, three invitations were extended to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and a job seeker validation code.

This year, the MPNP invited 1,461 candidates, and 281 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.
