On January 13, 2026, British Columbia held a draw for business candidates in the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).
In the first draw of the year, the province invited seven candidates in the Base Category of the Entrepreneur Stream.
The lowest score of this round was 115 points, the same as in the previous draw, held on December 16, 2025.
This stream targets experienced entrepreneurs who plan to establish businesses in the province's urban areas. Last year, the province invited up to 1,110 candidates under the BCPNP, including 132 entrepreneurs.

On January 8, the Ministere de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Integration (MIFI) issued 2026’s first invitations under Arrima.
The MIFI issued six supplementary invitations for permanent selection under special provisions of the Quebec Immigration Act.
These invitations, distinct from the mainstream PSTQ channels, were granted under sections 26 and 47 of the provincial immigration regulations. In total, the province has invited 58,747 candidates under Arrima since 2019. Last year, Quebec issued 2,910 candidates, including 21 supplementary invitations.

On January 5, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the Express Entry draw #389.
In the first draw of 2026, the Government of Canada issued 574 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.
This round’s cut-off score was 711 points, 20 points fewer than the previous PNP-targeted draw.
The tie-breaking rule for this round was October 06, 2025, at 01:54:31 UTC. As of January 4, 2026, 236,554 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool. Last year, the Government of Canada held 58 draws and invited 113,998 Express Entry candidates, including 10,898 PNP candidates.

On December 31, 2025, Manitoba held the invitation round #261 under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The province invited 421 candidates under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. The draw invited 353 candidates under the occupation-specific selection and 68 candidates under the Skilled Worker pathway.
In this round, 118 invitations were extended to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and a job seeker validation code.
In 2025, the MPNP invited 7,765 candidates, and 1,469 of them received invitations in the Express Entry system.
