LMIA Work Permits in Winnipeg: What Employers and Foreign Workers Need to Know
10th, Oct 2022
On October 7, 2022, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), announced that the Government of Canada has temporarily lifted the 20-hour-per-week cap on the number of hours that international students are allowed to work off-campus while in session.
International students who are in Canada and have off-campus work authorization on their study permit will not be restricted by the 20-hour-per-week limit from November 15, 2022, to December 31, 2023.
Foreign nationals who have already applied for a study permit may also take advantage of this temporary policy if their application is accepted as of October 7, 2022.
