New measures for foreign nationals with expired or expiring post-graduation work permits and applicants to the temporary resident to permanent resident pathways
26th, Jan 2022
On January 25, 2022, the Government of Canada published an update introducing the Canadian Refugee Protection Portal (CRPP), which was launched on October 6, 2021.
Effective immediately, individuals who are currently in Canada can make a refugee claim using the portal.
Applicants or their legal representatives will have to create an online account, complete a questionnaire and submit supporting documents online to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Applications of those who require accommodation or have a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
