Canada launched a special program to resettle the Afghan refugees

On July 23, 2021, Marco Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC), Marc Garneau, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Harjit Sajjan, Minister of National Defence, announced a special program to resettle more Afghan refugees in Canada. Quebec requires knowledge of French from spouses of applicants

On July 22, 2021, the Government of Quebec implemented new requirements for spouses of applicants of the Quebec experience program. Starting July 22, 2021, the new rule came into effect and requires de facto spouses or spouses of applicants applying for permanent selection under the Quebec experience program to demonstrate minimum proficiency in spoken French, corresponding to Level 4 or its equivalent. The province also provided a transitional period of one year to let spouses of applicants have enough time to continue learning French. Canada announced dates for lifting travel restrictions

Canada will open the border to vaccinated Americans on August 9, 2021. Officials say travellers should use the ArriveCAN app to submit travel information and are exempt from quarantine if they are eligible to enter. At the same time, tourists will have to provide a negative test result for COVID-19 before entering the country. Also from September 9, 2021, Canada will open the border to vaccinated tourists from all over the world. Canadian Government reminded international students to follow policy changes and public health measures

On July 19, 2021, Canada introduced new measures for travellers to Canada and asked international students to follow new regulations. The Government always recognizes the tremendous social, cultural, and economic benefits that international students bring to Canada which is why accommodated international students by introducing a variety of temporary policy changes throughout the pandemic.
