In 2023, the Federal Government allocated 5,500 certificates to the province, which is a 67% increase from 2022.
This includes 1,084 additional spaces for the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program and 1,116 additional allocations for the Atlantic Immigration Program compared to 2022.
The government plans to increase the allocations further in 2024 and 2025. Moreover, the provincial government has announced a renewed Canada-New Brunswick Immigration Agreement through Opportunities NB.
The newly updated immigration agreement allows the province to select eligible immigrants for permanent residency and prioritize highly skilled workers for faster processing through the Provincial Nominee Program with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. #New_Brunswick, #NBPNP, #allocations, #IRCC, #PNP, #Atlantic_Immigration, #AIP

The Government of Canada has recently expanded its list of foreign nationals who can purchase homes to include temporary foreign workers with at least 183 days left on their work permits.
However, these individuals can only buy a maximum of one residential property due to the two-year ban that was implemented on January 1, 2023.
In addition to altering existing policies, the government has re-defined the interpretation of a foreign-owned company, thereby permitting firms to have a greater proportion of foreign ownership without being deemed as international enterprises . #Temporary_foreign_workers, #housing, #foreign_workers

New statistics from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) show that the number of foreign nationals in Canada with temporary resident visas more than doubled last year.
In 2022, Canada's immigration department issued over 3.1 million temporary resident visas - a remarkable 101.5% increase from the 1,544,867 visas granted in 2021.
Following Russia's onslaught on Ukraine in February 2022, Ottawa implemented special measures to help Ukrainians escape their war-torn country and find a haven in Canada.
Consequently, this resulted in a considerable upsurge in temporary residents, with nearly half being Ukrainian citizens fleeing violence. #IRCC, #Statistics, #CUAET, #TRV, #work_permits, #Ukraine, #temporary_residents
