Ottawa updated the guidance for Super Visa holders

On July 28, 2022, the Government of Canada updated the guidance for the multiple entry temporary resident visa (TRV) for parents and grandparents.

According to the update, super visa holders’ each entry to Canada should be for a duration of up to 5 years.

The super visa is a 10-year multiple-entry TRV that is open to eligible applicants for up to 10 years and has authorized stays of up to 5 years for each entry.

Ottawa will hold targeted Express Entry draws in 2022 and early 2023

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will conduct Express Entry draws for candidates based on labour market objectives in the last quarter of 2022 and the first quarter of 2023.

The Department is developing plans to engage with various stakeholders to provide new categories in Express Entry.

Bill C-19 enables the immigration minister to invite Express Entry applicants based on criteria that support regional economic needs.

Instead of relying solely on a candidate's CRS score, IRCC may now conduct invitation rounds based on the candidates' occupation, language or educational level.
