On April 22, 2022, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), announced the Government’s plans to resume Express Entry draws in early July.
As a result of the temporary pause, Canada has diminished more than half of the federal high-skilled processing inventory, from 111,900 people in September 2021 to just 48,000 people by March 2022.
According to the announcement, the inventory will be further reduced by July 2022 to help the Government return to the service standards.
