Quebec will invest more than $20 million into the immigrant settlement services

The Government of Quebec is planning to invest more than $20 million into the immigrant settlement services for the next three-year period.

Within the last two years, the province has contributed to settlement services for immigrants via 74 service centres throughout the province. In 2021, Quebec has already provided $15 million in funding for settlement services in all regions of the province.

In addition, the Quebec Government also provided an extra $7.4 million in funding for 78 immigrant-related projects in 17 regions of the francophone province.

Canada invited 2,024 candidates under the International Experience Canada

Over the last two weeks, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws in the pools of International Experience Canada (IEC).

From October 2 to October 17, Canada invited 2,024 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit.

As of October 15, there are 32,727 candidates registered in the pool, waiting for the invitation.

Survey results show that Canadian education and immigration policies attract international students

In July 2021, IDP Connect conducted a survey with more than 6,000 students from 20 countries.

International students currently studying at 527 universities and colleges in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States, to understand their interest and evaluation of different study destinations.

The survey results show that Canada is the most popular destination for international students.

Surveyed students stated that there are a few main reasons why they choose Canada as their first choice: high-quality education, employment opportunities after graduation, support for international students, and a diverse and inclusive environment.

Students will be able to take IELTS Online starting 2022

Well this certainly is news that will make many people extremely happy.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will launch IELTS Online, a flexible and secure at-home language test, starting from early 2022.

Students will be able to take only IELTS Academic, the English-language test for higher education that has the same content as IELTS paper and computer versions covering listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

The speaking test will be via an online video call with a human examiner. For IELTS General, individuals still have to go to an authorized IELTS test centre.
