LMIA Work Permits in Winnipeg: What Employers and Foreign Workers Need to Know

On April 6, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
In round #174, the MPNP held a new occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream and invited 225 applicants who scored 615 points and above.
Manitoba also issued 226 LAAs in the regular SWM draw.
The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 670 points, 2 points fewer than the previous draw. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 54 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
The lowest score in the SWO category was 708 points, the same as it was in the previous draw.
In addition, 61 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 566 candidates, including 157 Express Entry candidates for this round.
In 2023, MPNP invited 3,346 candidates, and 516 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.
