New measures for foreign nationals with expired or expiring post-graduation work permits and applicants to the temporary resident to permanent resident pathways
8th, Nov 2021
On November 8, 2021, the United States opened the land borders for Canadians and lifted the restrictions that have been in effect since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, Canadians can take a weeklong vacation to the US or take daily cross-border trips to shop at a mall or take part in a sporting event or concert.
Until now, as the border was closed to drivers, traffic across the border was less than 15 percent of what it once was, according to the Canada Border Service Agency.
