7 Smart Strategies to Avoid Visitor Visa Rejection
28th, Aug 2025
A new study from Statistics Canada reveals that the number of temporary foreign workers (TFWs) in Canada's healthcare sector increased dramatically, from 3,200 in 2000 to 57,500 in 2022. Research by Yuqian Lu and Feng Hou shows that recent TFW cohorts demonstrate higher permanent residency transition rates, with nearly 60% of the 2010-2014 cohort achieving permanent status within five years.
India has surpassed the Philippines as the top source country since 2017, with TFWs increasingly concentrated in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. Healthcare-specific permit holders show remarkably higher retention rates in the sector after gaining permanent residency.
