On May 30, 2022, the Government of Canada published a new update regarding the abandonment procedures to be invoked following non compliance following email communication. The Government has provided a number of decision-making tools and examples to minimize the likelihood of extended delays in processing. With the consultation of the Client Support Centre (CSC) and Centralized Network (CN), instructions and guidelines were updated, clarifying who is responsible for decision-making after an application has been abandoned.
