On April 8, 2022, the Government of Canada updated instructions for the Atlantic Immigration Program.
According to the new program delivery update, instructions for work permits issued under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Programs (LMIA exemption C18) have been amended to include instructions for the permanent Atlantic Immigration Program established on January 1, 2022.
Despite the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Programs having been terminated on December 31, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) accepted and processed complete work permit applications and extensions by March 5, 2022.
