27th, Sep 2022
On September 26, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced updated instructions regarding study permit assessment at the port of entry.
As per the recent changes to the Instrument of Designation and Delegation, authorities regarding R220.1 have changed.
Previously, it was stated that this authority may only be exercised by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) at the port of entry, but now CBSA inland officers, border service and regional program officers are able to require evidence of compliance with the study permit conditions under R220.1.
