New measures for foreign nationals with expired or expiring post-graduation work permits and applicants to the temporary resident to permanent resident pathways
10th, Dec 2021
On December 8, 2021, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), welcomed 265 Afghan refugee families who landed at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
Approximately 100 of these families will remain in Nova Scotia, and the rest will be resettled in new homes across Canada.
These government-assisted refugees are former NATO employees who have been located in a third country.
They arrived in Canada under the Government of Canada’s special humanitarian program for Afghan refugees that aimed to welcome 15,000 individuals.
