Immigration Minister marked the start of National Francophone Immigration Week 2021

On November 8, 2021, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) marked the start of National Francophone Immigration Week 2021 and thanked French-speaking newcomers living in different communities across Canada, for their contributions to the country’s linguistic duality.

He also highlighted the ‘National Francophone Immigration Week' as an opportunity to recognize the importance of Francophone immigration.’

Considering in-demand occupations in the labour market, in May 2021, Canada announced parallel pathways for Francophone candidates under the temporary resident to permanent resident stream.
