New measures for foreign nationals with expired or expiring post-graduation work permits and applicants to the temporary resident to permanent resident pathways
19th, Oct 2021
The US will open land and sea borders starting November 8, 2021.
All travellers must be fully vaccinated cross the border into the US for non-essential travel.
This policy requires international travellers to provide only proof of vaccination. However, air travellers have to show a negative COVID-19 test in addition to the proof of vaccination.
Those who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 or are partially vaccinated will not be allowed to cross the border.
In early January 2022, the second phase of this policy is expected to be applied that will require both essential and non-essential travellers to be fully vaccinated.
