The Government of Canada has extended temporary measures for Sudanese nationals in Canada until October 27, 2024.
This allows them to extend their stay or change their status as visitors, students, or temporary workers free of charge due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
The conflict has claimed over 9,000 lives and displaced 5.6 million people.
The measures prioritize the processing of temporary and permanent residence applications for those in Sudan. Applicants with ongoing applications do not need to reapply.
