On March 15, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced support and services to help racialized newcomer women find jobs in Canada.
The Government of Canada has allocated $1.1 million to the YWCA of Metro Vancouver to support the Tech Connect program for newcomer women under the Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot.
The Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot was formed with work placements, mentorship opportunities, and gender-specific employment counselling services to support the career progression and workplace access of racialized newcomer women.
By allocating funding to projects such as Tech Connect, Canada's government reveals its dedication to boosting a successful transition for racialized female immigrants. #IRCC, #racialized_women, #YWCA, #Tech_Connect
