On February 14, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released details on the Government of Canada’s 2022-2024 Immigration Levels Plan.

According to the new plan, the Government aims to admit 431,645 new permanent residents this year.

In addition, Canada will welcome 447,055 newcomers in 2023 and 451,000 in 2024. Last year, Canada welcomed a record number of immigrants – 405,000 new permanent residents.

In the next three years, Ottawa wants to accept even more newcomers to tackle the labour shortage issue in the country and increase the Canadian population.
