New measures for foreign nationals with expired or expiring post-graduation work permits and applicants to the temporary resident to permanent resident pathways
22nd, Feb 2023
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) joined the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) to help employers tackle the issues they face in the labour market and hire skilled refugees overseas.
Through the pilot, the GNWT allows employers to access a pool of potential employees and partner with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to hire candidates under the EMPP.
Partner NGOs help employers find eligible candidates and provide them with employment and immigration-related resources and services.
NGOs will charge employers between $5,000 and $10,000 to recruit employees through the EMPP.
