Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has provided a detailed update on its current processing times. The latest figures show a marked improvement in the efficiency of the Express Entry system, which is a positive development for skilled workers hoping to move to Canada.

However, the news is not entirely optimistic, as the department also reported that wait times for citizenship certificates continue to be unusually long. These persistent delays have become a point of frustration for many long-term residents awaiting their formal recognition as Canadian citizens.

The IRCC remains committed to balancing these varying processing speeds. For applicants, the update underscores the necessity of monitoring status portals closely and preparing for potential fluctuations in timeline expectations depending on the specific program they have applied for.
