LMIA Work Permits in Winnipeg: What Employers and Foreign Workers Need to Know
27th, Aug 2023
On August 23, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) extended the ministerial instructions, clarifying that foreign nationals outside Canada applying for temporary resident or transit visas and work or study permits must submit their application online unless an exception applies.
These instructions were initially introduced as a temporary measure in response to COVID-19 restrictions but have now been integrated into the regular program delivery instructions.
The instructions use specific language and wording to clearly communicate the obligation to apply online.
Those unable to apply online due to a disability or requiring special accommodation for electronic means can still apply on paper.
