During the meeting with the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser promised to improve processing times for work permits.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) plans to use around $85 million budget to decrease processing times that have been rocketed after the beginning of the pandemic.
Previously, the minister has announced that IRCC will reduce processing times of work permits, study permits, proof of citizenship, as well as permanent residence card renewals by the end of 2022.
