New measures for foreign nationals with expired or expiring post-graduation work permits and applicants to the temporary resident to permanent resident pathways
22nd, Mar 2022
Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) answered questions of post-graduate work permit (PGWP) holders in an online meeting.
Minister stated that there is a huge number of people who have completed their studies and have a PGWP.
Many of these foreign nationals feel insecure since their PGWPs are expiring, and they have not been able to apply for permanent residency (PR) yet.
The Minister explained that IRCC is looking for different options to make sure not to lose these candidates as the Government tries to keep these skilled candidates in Canada to tackle the labour shortages in the country.
