On March 17, 2022, the Government of Canada launched the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) – a new temporary residence pathway for Ukrainian citizens and their family members.
Obtaining a CUAET, Ukrainian nationals will be able to stay in Canada for three years and have open work permits, which will enable them to find work as quickly as possible.
Their applications will be processed within two weeks.
However, Ukrainian citizens will have to meet all other public health requirements for travel and undergo background checks and security screening.
