Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced revised financial support requirements for study permit applications, effective September 1, 2025. Applicants will need to demonstrate possession of CAD 22,895 for living expenses, marking a CAD 2,260 increase from the current threshold. This update applies to all provinces and territories outside Quebec and requires proof of funds beyond first-year tuition and travel costs. Financial documentation options include Canadian bank accounts, Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), bank statements, education loans, or scholarship verification.
