On December 13, 2022, the Government of Canada introduced new updates related to the International Experience Canada (IEC) bilateral agreements with Italy.

Canada has signed an updated youth mobility agreement (YMA) with Italy, which has been in effect since November 2022.

Italian youth can come to Canada under the Young Professionals and International Co-op (internship) categories.

Under the bilateral agreement, applicants are eligible for two participations of up to twelve months each. Additionally, applicants are allowed to apply for the same category twice.
