LMIA Work Permits in Winnipeg: What Employers and Foreign Workers Need to Know
16th, Nov 2022
Currently, international students in Canada can work full-time during the academic year.
Last month, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced this temporary measure allowing international students to work more than 20 hours a week between November 15, 2022, and December 31, 2023.
IRCC introduced this measure to help with Canada's severe labour shortages in retail, hospitality, food services, etc. Around 500,000 international students already in Canada are expected to work more hours with no restrictions on the type of employment.
