On November 7, 2022, the Government of Canada published new instructions for the public policy allowing certain visitors in Canada to apply for a work permit.

The further instructions state that a visitor approved for an interim authorization to work in Canada may only continue working once a final decision is made if they have left Canada.

Eligibility for this public policy requires all foreign nationals to remain in the country while the IRCC is processing their work permit application.
