According to the Labour Market Bulletin prepared by the Government of Canada, which analyzed Labour Force Survey results of Manitoba, employment in the province increased in July, up 7,400 to 654,800.
The analysis highlights some occupations that have increased in demand in the province due to the pandemic.
In addition, in July, the unemployment rate fell 1.5 percentage points to 6.1% - the lowest since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 (6.7%).
However, many jobs in the tourism and hospitality sectors were negatively impacted because of Manitoba’s public health measures and pandemic-related shutdowns.
