LMIA Work Permits in Winnipeg: What Employers and Foreign Workers Need to Know

On September 10, 2021, the Government of Canada clarified the guidance for essential television and film workers, with regard to the specific considerations for the application of Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exemption code C14.
In addition, the Government issued a temporary public policy to provide an LMIA exemption to assess the issuance of employer-specific work permits to foreign graphic designers who will work on live-action television and film projects in Canada.
The new policy will be in effect from September 10, 2021, to March 9, 2022.
